Edwards joins Team Parker Racing

Sam Edwards has signed to race with Team Parker Racing in the 2006 Porsche Carrera Cup GB. The former single-seater racer will compete alongside Damien Faulkner and Jason Templeman after the team finalised its three-strong driver line-up.The 22-year old from Aylesbury started racing in single-seaters in 2003, but moved focus to sportscars last season and raced in the Carrera Cup at Brands Hatch in June, scoring an impressive fifth place."I'm really looking forward to it," says Edwards, who lapped within a second of Faulkner during a test with the team at Snetterton last year. "I'm realistic enough to know that I have a better chance of a career in sports cars," he adds. Edwards will work closely with Faulkner and Templeman on data, which should be a major boost as he adjusts to the Carrera Cup. "I'm very excited about the coming season." The signing of Edwards completes the line-up for Team Parker Racing, winners of the Carrera Cup in 2003 and 2005. "We're looking forward to working with Sam," says team boss Stuart Parker. "He's an exciting young talent and we expect him to be chasing podiums."Support for Edwards will come from Kelberg Trucks and Trailers of Bicester.
