On their bikes
For fans of bike racing, Motors TV has a must-see fix of action this week. The first round of the American AMA SuperBike Championship will be shown live, from the Daytona International Speedway. Following live coverage of the opening round, Motors will also show the entire Daytona 200 bike race, also live. This is the focal point of the Daytona Bike Week and sees road racing heroes competing over 200 miles (68 laps) of the Florida circuit.

Viva NASCAR
The fourth round of the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series takes the competitors to Las Vegas, in the heart of the Nevada desert. 2005 winner Mark Martin is racing in the Nextel Cup class this year, so the race will be wide open, on the 1.5 mile tri-oval circuit. Motors TV will be showing the race live as this outstanding venue, within sight of Vegas’ famous Strip reverberates to the sound of thousands of horsepower.

The prize is right
Following the success at last year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours, Motors TV is again putting together a race team, this time to compete in the Andros Trophy SuperFinal at the Stade de France in Paris. A pair of Motors TV fans and club members will drive the Motors TV Sprint Car at the SuperFinal in front of a packed stadium. But first, the huge entry must be reduced to just one man and one woman. This first installment follows the hopefuls as they demonstrate their skills before the selection panel at the Abbeville circuit in France.

Historics repeating themselves
If Finland is the spiritual home of rallying on gravel, then arguably, Ireland is its home on tarmac. And the Killarney Historic Stages Rally, in December 2005, saw an amazing array of historic and classic rally cars running over the Irish asphalt. British Championship regular Steve Perez was competing in a Lancia Stratos while Russell Brookes was also taking part, in a Porsche 911, co-driven by F1 journalist Maurice Hamilton. The field also included Mini coopers, Ford Escorts, a Triumph TR7 and even a Volvo 144, all competing on the mountainous stages around Killarney.

A motoring icon
The name Bugatti is a genuine icon of motoring in all guises. For any car fan, it conjures up images from the golden era of motoring and motorsport, right up to the modern day. From the famous ‘Royale’ of the 1930s to the T251 racer from the 1950s and EB110 model, launched on the 110th birthday of founder Ettore Bugatti in 1991. This program charts the history of the marque, from when a 17 year-old Ettore Bugatti bolted an engine to a tricycle, up to the modern day, culminating with the Veyron model, created as the ultimate automobile: 1001bhp and 250mph.
