McRae for BHRC opener
Jimmy McRae will contest the opening round of the 2006 Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally Championship.Partnered by Campbell Roy, McRae will tackle this weekend's Robin Hood Forest Stages in the Prepfab-entered Porsche 911 that they used on the Roger Albert Clark Rally last November.Prepfab boss Richard Lepley was keen to get the former British Rally champion back into the car and is hopeful that the deal may extend to further BHRC rounds as the season progresses."He's got a lot of Porsche experience and I think he'll go very well," says Lepley, "These stages will suit the car and Jimmy really enjoyed driving it on the RAC." It will be the first time in around 20 years that McRae senior has competed in the Nottinghamshire forests.McRae and Roy led the RAC during its early stages before engine problems forced them out and McRae is expected to be a strong contender in the post-historic category.
