Turbo Dynamics behind 1,000 bhp drag car

Experts from Turbo Dynamics have been in the fast lane to success with development work on the world's largest commercially available ball bearing turbocharger.

Working with two of its key distributors, Evo 400 and Sam Elassar of Dentistmapped.com, Turbo Dynamics has been developing a turbocharger for what is believed to be the first Evo  drag car of its kind to break the 1,000 bhp barrier in Europe.

The car, which has a standard body, has around a 17.5kg turbocharger based around a GT42RS ball bearing turbo and has been specially designed, modified and blueprinted to flow 1,000 hp.

"We have worked on a huge range of cars in the past but this is something really different,'' said Turbo Dynamics general manager and technical expert Craig Hodgson.

"We are always being asked for increasingly powerful turbochargers and this has to be one of the most impressive to date - we can't wait to see the car in action and if the engine can sustain this output level reliably.''
