This is the first major live event on Motors TV in March. The Daytona 200 takes place at the Daytona Raceway and is the focus of the annual ‘Bike Week’;  seven days of motorcycle madness in the Florida sun, with bike fans enjoying exceptional racing on a half oval/half infield road course circuit. Three classes form the AMA racing action; Superbike, Supersport and Formula XTreme, the latter selected last year to compete the 200 Miles.

The best AMA riders in the US wouldn’t miss Daytona for the world.  Top of the list is Miguel Duhamel, five-time winner of the event and the current title holder, who will be given an extra turn of speed by the possibility of becoming the first six-time winner in the history of the race.  Who will stop him? Well, competition will come from close to home, in the shape of team-mate Jake Zemke, as well as Eric Bostrom, who moves into the XTreme category with Yamaha.

Another new-comer this year is the American bike manufacturer Buell, famous for its innovative design style. It’s employed the hugely experienced British rider Jeremy McWilliams and together, they’re sure to pose a major challenge.

The race, running over 200 miles on the Florida circuit, offers more than two hours of intense race action which, as often as not, culminates in a photo-finish. Motors TV will show the complete AMA Daytona 200 live from 19.00, following the supporting SuperBike race, also shown live at 16.00.
