Silverstone offers British Grand Prix ticket holders a ‘super-lap’ ride of a lifetime with F1 driver Button
Silverstone has announced that all fans purchasing a ticket for the 2006 FORMULA 1™ Foster’s British Grand Prix, between 10 March and 1 May, will be entered into a prize draw to win the ultimate experience for any F1 fan - a lap around Silverstone’s world famous Grand Prix circuit with British hero and fans’ favourite Jenson Button, one of the strongest contenders for this year’s FIA Formula One World Championship.
The joint promotion between Silverstone, Button and his Honda Racing F1 team, further endorses the Formula One circuit’s commitment to providing added value for fans attending one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
Having been approached by Silverstone, Button was equally keen to show his appreciation for the British fans, who have supported him so passionately at his home race. Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, commented, “We are very excited to be able to offer this opportunity to fans buying British Grand Prix tickets between 10 March - the start of the new F1 season - and 1 May.
Jumping in a Honda car with Jenson Button and being taken for a flying lap around Silverstone really is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our Grand Prix circuit is renowned for being one of the fastest and most challenging in the world, and what better way to experience it than charging through Copse alongside one of the quickest and best drivers in Formula One?
“At Silverstone we are always looking to add value and entertainment for the fans; the lap ride opportunity with Jenson reaffirms this and clearly demonstrates our commitment to providing the best experience possible. We hope to be able to make a few more exciting announcements in the not too distant future.” Jenson Button added, “The British Grand Prix is always a very special occasion for me. It’s my home race and I have such fantastic support from the British fans. I’m feeling great ahead of what should be a strong season for the Honda Racing F1 Team and we’ll be going to every race with the objective of challenging for wins. That will certainly be the case at Silverstone, which is a race I would love to win in front of such a huge home crowd. It would be such an incredible feeling. In the meantime, I’m glad to give something back to the fans together with Silverstone and I look forward to thrilling the three lucky winners with a hot-lap of the circuit in a Honda sports car.”
