2 weeks for young journalists to enter

ITV F1 commentator James Allen supports Bridgestone’s search for young journalist

Following  the  opening  round  of  the  2006  FIA  Formula  One  World  Championship  in  Bahrain  last weekend,  James  Allen,  ITV’s  F1  commentator,  has  given  his support to Bridgestone e-reporter – the pan-European competition nurturing the next generation of motorsport journalists.

Bridgestone will be taking eight lucky finalists to a European Grand Prix to report on the exciting GP2 Series, where they will also rub shoulders with world famous Formula One drivers and personalities. Winners will get to meet and interview James Allen and get a behind the scenes insight into the world of media and television.

“Bridgestone  e-reporter  is  a  really  great  idea,  offering  young  journalists  the  unique  chance  to experience  the  media  world  of  Formula  One  and  GP2  first  hand.  I  wish  there  had  been  such  a competition when I was starting out – a career in F1 is hard to initiate and it’s all about opportunity. I hope I can offer some advice to Bridgestone’s e-reporters and look forward to welcoming some new talent to the sport,” said James Allen.

Bridgestone e-reporter is a competition open to all students aged 18-30, across Europe, who are in full time education. Students can enter via www.bridgestone-eu.com/e-reporter and have just over two weeks in which to place their entry (closing date for entries 12:00 GMT, Friday 31 March 2006
