Pilet piles it on!

After putting in a fine end to the 2005 season for GD Racing, Patrick Pilet has committed to racing for the whole of the 2006 season with the Italian team. This can only be good news for the 2004 Formula Renault 2.0 French Champion, who will be teaming up with Matteo Meneghello.

Fukuda moves from Saulnier to Tech 1Ryo Fukuda will be Tech 1 Racing's second driver. After taking the French F3 Championship title in 2001 with Saulnier Racing, Ryo could not help rejoining forces with Saulnier last year for the World Series Formula Renault 3.5. In 2006, he will be driving alongside Jérôme d'Ambrosio for Simon Abadie's outfit.

Andy Soucek at InterwettenIn his fourth season in F3, Andy Soucek took the 2005 Spanish Championship title. So joining the World Series is a logical progression for the man from Madrid. He will team up with Carlos Iaconelli at Interwetten.

Countdown to action…The Formula Renault 3.5 cars will be back on track next Wednesday and Thursday for testing at the Barcelona circuit. This will be our first chance to get a glimpse of the field which is now 90% complete and to try to spot possible candidates for the remaining drives!

Formula Renault 2.0 in MisanoThose taking part in the Eurocup were however the first to get back onto the track on Thursday and Friday. The newcomers Edoardo Mortara (Prema) and Edoardo Piscopo (Cram) were also on good form.
