AT AUSTRALIAN GP
As the Formula One circuit moves to Australia for the third round of the2006 Championship, what better place to launch a new merchandise range than in the cosmopolitan and stylish city of Melbourne. The Honda RacingF1 Team's 2006 collection will make its debut at the Australian Grand Prix in Albert Park, Melbourne this weekend.
The range, designed by G2 New York, takes its inspiration from the livery colours of the RA106 race car to produce an urban and practical collection of thirty-seven items, designed to offer lifestyle appeal both within and outside the F1 environment. Instantly recognisable, with a distinctive white, red, olive and black stripe pattern on all items, the new collection will be first on sale to race fans at the Merchandise superstore in Albert Park.
Renowned fashion photographer Elisabeth Hoff joined team drivers Jenson Button, Rubens Barrichello and Anthony Davidson at a pre-season test at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain for the photo shoot. Relishing the chance to turn models for the day, the three drivers also made full use of the opportunity to admire their modelling co-stars, the brand new Honda Civic road car and the Honda Fireblade and Zoomer bikes.
The full photo shoot from Jerez displays all items in the new collection including replica team shirts and caps, individual driver t-shirts and stylish lifestyle tops and jackets. The ladies range includes a sweatshirt and selection of fitted tops. To complete the collection is a series of smart accessories, ranging from flags to keyrings and bags to sunglasses.
A preview of the 2006 collection can be viewed from the online shop at HondaRacingF1.com from Saturday 1 April with online orders commencing in mid-April. The full range will also be available from select Honda dealers at the end of April and from the Honda Racing F1 Team merchandise stand at the remaining races of the 2006 Formula One season.
