Alex Yoong gave the Proton sponsored A1 Team Malaysia a historic lights to chequered flag maiden victory in the China A1GP Sprint race in a cool and calculated manner.

He extended his lead in the 15 lap race from 1.5s in lap 1 to win by more than 9s from Great Britain's Darren Manning without any relief for the chasing pack.

Winner in USA, Mexico with Salvador Duran on board pressured Great Britain all the way to the finish for third.
