Richard Williams has unveiled his plans to contest the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with IN2RACING this season. He will be part of the team's four-strong Carrera Cup squad. The former BTCC racer will take the wraps off his new 997-model 911GT3 Cup car at the spectacular Lloyds Building in the City of London tomorrow (Thursday 6 April) before racing it for the first time at Brands Hatch over the weekend (8/9 April)."We've been given permission to have the car outside Lloyds, the world famous Insurance Market on Thursday, right in the heart of the city. It will be on show from 12noon to 2pm in the foyer."Williams is buzzing at the prospect of racing in the Carrera Cup this season. "From my point of view, it's an exciting new car this year and with such a level playing field, it's very much down to driver ability," he says. "It gives me an opportunity to prove myself against quality drivers."The move into the Carrera Cup is part of a multi-year plan, with the chance to race at Le Mans being his ultimate goal. "The plan for me is Carrera Cup this year, then Supercup and then into GT racing. I hope to take in a couple of Supercup races this year as well," says Williams, who had his debut BTCC season in 2005.
