Lister LMP 2nd in LMES at Istabul

The Lister Storm finished second in LMP1 and third overall in the first race of the Le Mans Series this year at Istanbul.

The Storm ran perfectly for the whole weekend – Nicolas Kiesa started the race in difficult, damp conditions on wet tyres;  after a short time the track dried out, he changed to slicks and continued to drive for two hours handing the car over to Jens in 4th position.

The race had been shortened to 4 hours (instead of 6) due to a lack of fuel being brought to the circuit by the suppliers.  The minimum driving time per driver was therefore reduced to 40 minutes.  Jens completed this time in the car and handed the car back to Nicolas in 5th position.

With an hour and twenty minutes to go Nicolas drove faultlessly moving up to 3rd overall and 2nd in LMP1 – a first podium finish for the Storm in international racing and the first  internationally for the team since 2003.

A fantastic result – now we can move on with the development of the car – the aerodynamics and the power.

The next Le Mans Series race is at Spa on 14th May and after that we begin the countdown to the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
