It’s a Knock-Out
The second round of the 2006 DTM Series heads for the EuroSpeedway at Lausitz in Germany, where the winner of the first round, Bernd Schneider, will be looking to repeat his performance. Motors TV’s live coverage starts with the qualifying session on Saturday, which now follows a similar format to that in Formula One, where the field is gradually reduced over three sessions, leaving the fastest eight to fight it out for pole position. Then, on Sunday, Motors will show the entire race live, as the Mercedes and Audi drivers and teams battle for the win in front of huge crowds.

The World By Storm
The Formula Renault championship, part of the World Series By Renault program, is one of the feeders to the pinnacle of single seat racing, Formula One. All fifteen teams in this year’s championship recently attended the official test session at the Nürburgring, with twelve drivers covered by less than a second. So the action is going to be close, throughout the field. Motors TV brings the two races that make up the first round delayed as live, from the Zolder circuit in Belgium. The first round is on Saturday afternoon while the main race, featuring compulsory pit stops, is on Sunday.

Forty Five In The Busch
The tenth round of the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series heads to Alabama and the Talladega SuperSpeedway, another tri-oval racetrack designed with the drivers and the fans in mind. The 2.6-mile banked track is the scene of a series of many notable achievements, including Dale Earnhardt’s ten wins and Mark Martin’s outstanding performance at the 1997 Aaron’s 500, when he won the 500-mile race at an average speed of almost 189mph! Motors TV is showing the entire race live, so viewers can see the same action, at the same time, as the 143,000 spectators who are expected to turn up to the circuit on the day.

Two Wheels Best
The third round of the American AMA Superbike series heads for the California Speedway, at Fontana, an hour east of Los Angeles. The weekend of the 29/30 April sees two races, each 100Km long, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The first round of the series saw Suzuki dominate, with Mathew Mladin and Ben Spies take first and second, followed by Miguel Duhamel’s Honda in third. British rider Neil Hodgson put his Ducati in fourth. The combination of high speed sections at Fontana, using part of the oval circuit, and tighter corners, in the infield, means that the Ducatis and Suzukis will each have their strengths and weaknesses at this circuit, guaranteeing spectacular action.
