Jordan revved up for Irish BTCC races

Mike Jordan is aiming to maintain his excellent opening form in the next three rounds of the 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Mondello Park on Sunday (23 April).Jordan's John Guest-supported Honda Integra was one of the stars of the opening rounds at Brands Hatch and he is now planning to continue that form at the Irish track, which he rates as one of his favourite circuits on the BTCC schedule."I just love Mondello and can't wait to get in the car there," says Jordan. "I think it is going to be very hard on the car, but the aim for Mondello is to try and do about the same as Brands. That was a fantastic result and to be in that same place in the Mondello races would be very good."Since the accident that put him out of the second race at Brands, Jordan's Honda has been back to the bodyshop. "We've done a bit of bodywork repair since Brands, including the front radiator frame. We'll be doing a shakedown test on Wednesday afternoon, then onto the ferry on Thursday."Jordan knows that the Mondello track, which has around 22 corners per lap, tends to deliver incident-packed BTCC action. "At a circuit with as many hairpins as Mondello, it's inevitable that it's going to be a bit rough at times! My confidence in the car is up and I've got a lot of set-up information from Team Dynamics. I've got one radical thing I want to try based on previous experience there."Sunday's BTCC action will have the usual excellent TV coverage. On ITV1, an extensive programme on Sunday afternoon will carry the third race of the day live along with highlights from the opening two races. Meanwhile, the Motors TV programme will carry live coverage from Mondello Park throughout Sunday.
