COMTEC ready for Eurocup challenge

Pippa Mann quick in final pre-season test at Paul Ricard

Comtec Racing will begin their 2006 Eurocup campaign in Belgium next weekend, and with British driver Pippa Mann, the Norfolk based team has been setting some quick and consistent times in pre-season testing.  The final test at Paul Ricard saw Mann and Comtec lapping towards the front end of the field, finishing a promising 13th place on the first and second days.

Mann has been working with her engineer on both qualifying and race trim, and she is optimistic about both set-ups: “We have tried to get as much information about the car as possible going into the first race, as once it is underway you rarely get as good an opportunity to exploit an advantage.  I think we’re in a strong position for next weekend.”

The Eurocup field is a busy one, with just under forty cars set to compete in the upcoming season.  With this in mind, Mann is pleased with her testing times, and confident with the way in which the team has prepared for the challenge.

The Eurocup 2006 season-opener takes place at Zolder on 29/30th April, and is accompanied by Eurocup Megane Trophy, Belgium FR 1.6 and World Series by Renault races.
