Mini’s Galore for Double Header Weekend

Bumper weekend with races in Kent and Wiltshire in two days.

The Mini 7 Racing Club is holding a bumper weekend of racing action with races at Brands Hatch on Sunday 30th April and at Castle Combe in Wiltshire on Bank Holiday Monday (1st May).  The club, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is planning a Mini convoy on Sunday evening, setting off from Brands Hatch for the 140-mile trip to Castle Combe and Mini owners are invited to join in.

“The last time the club did a double-header weekend in 1994 everyone had a great time because of the party atmosphere that was generated,” said M7RC Chairman Nick Cooke.  “This year, being the clubs 40th birthday, this weekend will take on extra significance and we would like to invite owners of classic minis to accompany the race car transporters and trailers for part, or for all, of the way to Castle Combe.  We will be back at Brands Hatch on July 16th, where the first ever Mini Se7en race was held in July 1966, and the real birthday celebrations begin.”

On track, round two of the Dunlop Mini Se7en and Mini Miglia Challenges will be taking place at the Kent circuit on Sunday 30th April, with Max Hunter and Tim Sims will be looking to add a second winners trophy to their respective collection.  After the trip to Wiltshire the grids will reform for Round 3 on Bank Holiday Monday.    A month later, on June 2nd to 4th, the Mini 7 Racing Club will be travelling to Spa Francorchamps, the first visit to the Belgium GP circuit since 2003.
