Avon Tyres has been chosen by the organisers of the GP Masters series to supply the race rubber for the prestigious six-race championship. The series kicks off in Qatar on April 29th.

GP Masters debuted in South Africa last year on Avons with former World Champion, Nigel Mansell, taking the chequered flag ahead of an eclectic field of veteran F1 drivers.

Julian Baldwin, Motorsport Director for Avon Tyres, is thrilled at the continued involvement in the series. “The Kyalami race last year was one of the highlights of the motorsport calendar. We were delighted to be involved at the start and more so from hereon in,” he said.

Competing in the same Nicholson McLaren Cosworth powered, 650 bhp single-seaters, the unique race series features the likes of Ricardo Patrese, Derek Warwick, Emerson Fittipaldi and Rene Arnoux.

Silverstone will hold the British round of the series on 12-13th August.
