LE MANS 24 HOURS: FULL COVERAGE, LIVE AND UNINTERRUPTED!

For Motors TV, the High Speed Television Channel, the month of June means only one thing: the Le Mans 24 Hours.

A mythical race, legendary teams, world-class drivers at the peak of their performance - and a Motors TV world first for the sheer extent of their coverage…

This is the menu for June:

In addition to securing the exclusive pan-European rights (including the UK), Motors TV will provide amazing coverage of this annual event in western France. More than 50 hours of live broadcasting are planned, including more than 30 hours dedicated to the race itself on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June.

Motors TV’s extensive comprehensive coverage will begin as early as the 3rd and 4th June, for the official Test Sessions. This will be covered with a 26 minute show which will be put together and broadcasted many times the following week.

From Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th June, Motors TV will set-up a studio on the Jacobins square, in the town centre of Le Mans. This is where the scrutineering and sporting checks take place and the build-up to the great race begins. With all the cars and drivers in attendance, our specialists will be there to cover every story from their on-site studio. Never before these two days have been shown live on TV.

Official qualifying takes place on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th June, and will be broadcast live and in their entirety. The intense battle for pole position being covered live on television will also be a first for Le Mans.

Friday 16th June is the day of the Drivers’ parade, downtown in the city of Le Mans. Once again Motors TV will be there to capture the party atmosphere and interview many of the 150 drivers in attendance.

And last by not the least, on Saturday 17th June, from as early as 8am, Motors TV will begin their world premiere of live and uninterrupted coverage of the Le Mans 24 Hours. Coverage will include: warm up, historic car races, presentation of the cars, formation of the starting grid and finally the big race itself, which this year will begin at 16h00 (17h00 local time). Coverage will then continue through the night with broadcasting due to stop on Sunday 18th June, around 16h30.

In addition to all of the above, Motors TV will screen a brace of old official films covering past editions of the Le Mans 24 Hours as part of its outstanding effort to cover, as never before, the biggest endurance race in the world.

Confirmed live programmes include:

Monday 12th June, scrutineering and sporting checks: 13h30-17h00.
