Myerscough College’s Motorsports team has started the new Formula Ford season with a class win in the National Scholarship Class in race one and a 3rd in race two at the recent event held at Oulton Park.
The winning team is made up of 2nd year Foundation Degree students, running a car for Cheshire Driver Simon Kinsey. The team were responsible for all aspects of maintenance and car set up.
The students are part of a two-car team. The second car is owned by the College and is driven by 19 year old rookie Jamie Jardine. This team is made up of 1st year Foundation Degree students who are under the watchful eye of Myerscough’s race technician Rob Rowley a Motorsports lecturer at the College.
Competition Coordinator Dave Gardner, who overseas the whole operation, commented:
“We have had a great start to the season with the two cards finishing both races and scoring points. The team has worked exceptionally well and the results are just rewards for their efforts.”
The next round takes place at the end of May at Donnington Park and Myerscough Motorsports are hoping for repeat success.
