MOTORS TV TO BROADCAST SIX EXCEPTIONAL DOCUMENTARIES IN BUILD UP TO LE MANS 24 HOURS

Motors TV reaffirms its commitment to the biggest endurance race in the world with the release of new programming to be screened in the build-up to this year’s event.

Following the earlier announcement from the “High Speed Television” channel that they will broadcast more than fifty hours of live coverage from the Le Mans 24 Hours (from the Monday before the event until the podium after the end of the race!), Motors TV is now proud to announce the further broadcast of six exceptional documentaries featuring stunning highlights from previous editions of this classic motor race.

The series of documentaries is called Road to Le Mans and will comprise six, fifty-two minute programs.

The following years will be covered by Road to Le Mans:

1988 – the height of the titanic Porsche vs. Jaguar duel; cars reach more than 400 km/h (248mph) on the famous Hunaudières straight; invasion of the circuit by the English fans etc… magical moments! Tuesday 2nd May, 18:00hrs.

1993 – Second consecutive victory for Peugeot, three cars on the podium for the legendary 905 car and the most recent success of a French team at Le Mans… Tuesday 9th May, 18:00hrs.

1998 – A classic year, arguably one of the most memorable in decades, thanks to no fewer than six official works teams from Porsche, Toyota, Mercedes, Audi, Nissan and BMW… an epic battle. Tuesday 16th May, 18:00hrs.

2003 – 80th anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hours and Bentley break the Audi stronghold to take victory just 73 years after their last one! Tuesday 23rd May, 18:00hrs.

2005 – David vs Goliath - Pescarolo the privateer vs. Audi the German giant... Le Mans legend Henri Pescarolo’s eponymous team makes its strongest challenge yet to interrupt the dominance of the mighty Audi team; Danish driver, Tom Kristensen takes an unprecedented seventh victory to become the all-time record holder for most Le Mans wins. Tuesday 30th May, 18:00hrs.

In addition to these programs, Motors TV will also broadcast the Audi R10 Story: an extraordinary insight with exclusive footage to the German manufacturer’s ground breaking new Diesel-powered Le Mans contender. Tuesday 6th June, 18:00hrs.
