World Superbikes power into Silverstone

Silverstone is gearing up to open its gates to one of the most exciting events of the year - the FIM Corona Extra Superbike  World  Championship  on  26-28 May. The two-wheeled series is one of the biggest and best in the world, guaranteeing hardcore racing, dramatic overtaking, and non-stop action as some of the world’s top riders go    wheel-to-wheel    in    the    battle    to    be    crowned    World    Champion.    Tickets   are   on   sale   now   at silverstone.co.uk.

In addition to two spectacular Superbike races, fans will be treated to a world class package of support races at the   world   famous   Northamptonshire   based   circuit,   including   the   Supersport   World   Championship,   the Superstock FIM Cup 1000 and the Superstock European Championship 600.

Tickets for all three days are now on sale and, if booked in advance, are available from £35 for raceday (£40 on the day), £15 for qualifying on Saturday (£20 on the day), while access on Friday is free of charge. Weekend Tickets, for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, are also available for as little as £45 in advance (£50 if purchased on the  Friday  or  Saturday).

Raceday  hospitality,  situated  at  prime  viewing  locations  around  the  circuit,  is  also available from £199 (+VAT) per person.

The first 1,500 fans to buy a Weekend Ticket in advance will also get free access to the hugely popular pit lane walkabout. For fans wishing to gain unrivalled access behind the scenes, and the opportunity to rub shoulders with the world’s top riders and teams, paddock passes – available at £10 per person, per day – are also a must.   British  hero,  and  former  World  Champion,

James  Toseland  will  be  leading  the  British  challenge,  along  with Chris Walker, on his PSG-1 Kawasaki Corse, and Craig Jones, riding for Foggy Petronas Racing. All three will be hoping to impress the fans and make the most of strong support on home soil. Winston Ten Kate Honda rider, Toseland, will be particularly keen to find the form and raw speed that saw him race away with the world title in 2004.

With Silverstone hosting round seven of the Championship the title will be wide open, and there’s everything to play  for  as  the  Brits  take  on  championship  contenders  from  around  the  world,  including  reigning  World Champion Troy Corser, Troy Bayliss (both Australia), Régis Laconi (France), Ruben Xaus (Spain), Frankie Chili (Italy) and the ‘Samurai of Slide’, Noriyuki Haga (Japan).

Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, commented:

“The Corona Extra Superbike World Championship is one of our most exciting events of the season and is incredibly popular with the fans. If you ask spectators what they want to see most at a race, it’s exactly that – racing. Overtaking is one of the real draws of our bike events, especially when the battles are between so many of the world’s top riders.

“There  is  always  considerable  support  for  the  British  riders,  which  generates  a  fantastic  atmosphere.  We’re thoroughly looking forward to another phenomenal weekend of entertainment for all the family.”
