Tiago Monteiro finished his 25th Grand Prix of his career and classified in 16th position at Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, the sixth F1 Grand Prix of the 2006 season. " I made a good start, recovered from a spin on lap three caused by Franck Montagny (Super Aguri F1) who hit from the back after I had passed him and brought my Midland F1 car home in sixteenth. This is my fifth finish of my 2006 season.

"It is a shame because it messes the whole race strategy, but fortunately the car was not damaged in the spin. I lost quite a bit of time. Our pace was good and I was easily lapping faster than my team mate.  My fastest lap in the race is 1.19.265 on lap 28. I had a battle with Ralf Schumacher after he pitted for a new front wing and was keeping him behind me until I pitted on lap 27."

"Half-way through the race I was up in seventeenth and running consistently until making my second pit stop on lap 48. I got up to sixteenth by the end which is a good result."
