Red Dragon awaits Rees

Llanybydder rally driver Grant Rees returns to the British Trials & Rally Drivers Association (BTRDA) Championship this week when he contests the Pro-Art Signs Red Dragon Rally on Saturday 20th May. Having missed the last two rounds of the BTRDA XSpec 1400 series, Rees secured a last minute deal to ensure he contests the Swansea based rally. Two non finishes so far in the series, a broken windscreen on the opening round and an engine failure on the second round have not dampened Grant's spirits or enthusiasm. The West Wales driver and his Aberystwyth co-driver Wyn Davies, will use a Rallyschool.co.uk MG ZR for the first time in a bid to collate some championship points. The young Welshman will test his new mount on Monday to get a feel for the car and is up beat about the prospects ahead."Having managed to get a deal to run the Rallyschool.co.uk MG last Thursday. Everything has been a little hectic but I am really looking forward to the test and the rally even more. It will be good just to get back behind the wheel having missed the last two rounds. I would like to get around in one piece and with most of the cars in our class being MG's, it should make for a competitive day and I hope we can push for a class win. We will see how the times compare throughout the day and possibly go for a late charge."The Pro-Art Signs Red Dragon Rally starts from the Liberty Stadium at 8.15 Saturday morning and takes in special timed stages in the forests of Afan Argoed, Margam and Walters Arena before returning to the Stadium at 15.09.
