Pantano-Its fantastic to be back in GP2

Giorgio Pantano's views from his first weekend with Fisichella Motor Sport International

Giorgio PantanoIt is fantastic to be back in GP2, especially with the Petrol Ofisi Fisichella Motor Sport International team.Since I raced in the series last year, the cars have changed a lot, slick tyres, more powerful engines so it was very hard for me to adapt and learn the cars' characteristics on the Friday practise because it was raining. So I knew I had to learn everything during qualifying but unfortunately I went off on my second fast lap so qualified in last place. The first race in this car was very interesting, I had only had a few dry laps so I had to learn as I raced! The car was very good and I was getting the feel of the car more and more as each lap passed. I made my way up through the field from last to 9th position but during the last 3 laps we encountered a fuel pressure problem so I dropped down to 10th place. If I could have held on to 9th I would have in fact been promoted to 8th due to an underweight car being penalised in front of me which would have then meant pole for race 2.Race 2Starting from 9th place, I quickly made my way up to 6th but I could not quite catch the group in front. I felt huge understeer with the car which is strange because I had not had this problem the day before so the team are looking into this.I was under a little bit of pressure from Monfardini but I was able to manage my pace well until the understeer problem got the better of me with six laps to go, I left the track at the last corner a dropped a place down to 7th where I finished. For me these results are not too bad considering the lack of track time I had to learn the car, but I feel that I can now move forward for the next race and achieve some fantastic results.
