Racecar driver Peter Ross wins

Racecar driver - Peter Ross had a very successful Bank Holiday - racing his V8 Stockcar to victory in the East of Anglia Championship at Foxhall Stadium in Ipswich.

His results of 2nd in Heat 1, 2nd in Heat 2 and a 6th in the final meant that he had accumulated enough points to take the championship.

It was Peter's first meeting in a car he had only just bought - and it proved to be quite a successful shakedown! However the first time he had a chance to open the throttle on the car - disaster nearly struck as the car's somewhat "aggressive" power delivery nearly caught him unawares and sent him into the railings!

"The car is totally different to what I am used to and I had not had a chance to set the car up - so the first few laps were quite hairy - a strong chevy and twitchy chassis certainly commands your attention!" Peter reports.

The meeting was run in slippery conditions which resulted in the full contact nature of the sport being exploited to the full. The cars run chevrolet V8's - with the top cars producing up to 450 bhp - which when they are only geared to run to about 90 mph - means the acceleration is quite vivid.

Peter's next meeting will be at Bovingdon where he will be hoping to follow up his successful meeting at Ipswich.

Peter runs a business - Ross Recovery - which supports his racing and racecar can recommend from personal experience Ross Recovery's services.
