AFTER COMPLETING TEST DAY
Young American sportscar star James Gue fulfilled alifetime ambition last weekend by completing his first ever laps at theCircuit de la Sarthe - the home of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.Gue is listed as a reserve driver for the Miracle Motorsport squad forthis year's event but filled in for team-mate Andy Lally who missed the LeMans test day while competing in the Rolex Sportscar Series at Watkins Glenlast weekend."Coming to Le Mans has always been a dream of mine. I grew up aroundsportscar racing because my dad has been involved running teams foryears," Gue said."I have watched the race on television for as long as I can remember. Itmany ways it feels pretty familiar actually being here because I have hadmy eye on this place for so long."The track is pretty similar to what I expected. I completed a lot oflaps on computer games before coming over so it only took two or threelaps to really get a feel for the place."I have raced the Courage chassis before, so that was a big bonus. Thecar was really built for this track. With a smooth surface and quickcorners, the long wheelbase is really well suited to the circuit."The car is a handful at a place like Sebring, but here it is perfect."While Miracle Motorsports' current plans feature team-owner John Macalusoteaming up with Lally and Ian James, Gue will still be on hand at nextweek's Le Mans event – keeping his helmet and race gear close at hand"just in case"."To actually get to race here would be a dream come true - particularlywith Miracle because they have such a strong driver line-up," Gue said."It would certainly be one the highlights of my career. Regardless ofwhat happens, I am going to stay here for the race and help the team whereI can."If I don't get the chance to compete this year, I certainly will beworking very hard to investigate every opportunity to do the race in2007."A former karting ace, Gue is the son of experienced sports car team owner,Michael Gue. In 2004, Gue drove for Miracle in ALMS competition in theLMP2 class - winning two races and finishing second in the championship.Last year he played a key role in Multimatic Motorsports and Fordclinching the manufacturers and team's championship in Grand Am Cupcompetition. Gue teamed with Gunnar Jeannette to win the Fontana round ofthe Championship aboard a Ford Mustang FR500C
