Nathan Crewe - Dukeries Preview

Bromsgrove rally driver Nathan Crewe will keep his British Trials and Rally Drivers Association (BTRDA) Championship campaign on track as he contests the Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally on Saturday 17th June. However, due to the nature of the Mansfield based event and a severe lack of horsepower will put Crewe at a distinct disadvantage, the Midlands driver has no high expectations of the rally and his eventual outcome for the rally."We have no great ambitions on the Dukeries. The format of the event is going to punish us slightly with the long straights as we are going to be well down on power so we have to accept that. I will be really pleased if we can finish inside the top three of the class or inside the tail end of the top ten Xspec 1400 championship."

Crewe will be looking to use the fifth round of the BTRDA championship to help develop the team and look at the positives for him and his Birmingham co-driver, Chris Brooks."The whole team has been working really well especially Chris, who has only been part of the team over the last few rallies and has slotted in well. I felt the result on the last round did not do us justice due to the lack of power. This rally is hard on cars so we are hoping to be there at the finish to collect some much needed points having missed the first two rounds of the series. It is important that we do so and that when it comes to dropped scores towards the end of the year we have enough points in the bag."

The Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally starts from Manfield at 8.30am with the main bulk of the forty-five miles of competition taking place through Sherwood Forest and expected to finish at approximately 4pm later in the afternoon.

Nathan and Chris are supported in the BTRDA XSpec 1400 championship by Grosvenor Repair Centre, Cottrill Transport, Questmead and Silkolene.
