Hot Rod action this weekend at Bovingdon

Spedeworth South (www.spedeworth.net) plays host to the rapid 2.0 Hot Rods, Lightning Rods, Bangers and Stock Karts at Bovingdon Raceway, Sunday June 18th at 1.30pm.

The powerful non-contact 2.0 Hot Rods will be in action in the South Africa Tour and Round 7 of the Ludlow Chassis Challenge. The high-powered rods are always thrilling to watch at Bovingdon with extremely close racing the order of the day as the drivers go all out to secure those vital points in the ongoing challenge.

While the 2.0 Hot Rods will be trying hard to avoid contact the all-action Bangers will be doing just the opposite as they attempt to wrestle their clapped out M.O.T. rejects around the track and survive long enough to see the chequered flag raised in Round 4 of their always entertaining track championship.

The Lightning Rods will also be in action on the day in their Lowman and Jones and Yokohama Tyres racing series. These big and powerful Ford Sierra based machines always provide plenty of pedal to the metal action at Bovingdon, where the sheer bulk of the cars makes overtaking a move for only the bravest of drivers. This does not deter drivers from making such moves, with just inches between their competitors and the unforgiving safety fence. Not for nothing are the cars dubbed 'Frightening Rods.'

Rounding off what promises to be a great day's racing the Stock Karts take to the track. The Stock Karts are a fast growing formula, offering stock car like thrills in a bumper car sized racing machine.

With a great value for money, four formula racing programme, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) will provide another action packed day of racing when the green flag waves on June 18th
