Jack Harvey (Bassingham, Lincolnshire) proved his first Renault Formula JICA win was no fluke when he repeated the feat at Larkhall on 18th June.
Harvey scored two race victories at the Lanarkshire circuit in the B4 Group Super One championship, to go with the two wins he clinched on his home track, PFI near Newark, in May. Four wins in a row put him in the lead of the Renault sponsored Formula JICA series.
The 13 year-old’s first win came in very wet conditions at PFI and it was raining again at Larkhall when he continued his successful streak. The win in final one at PFI earned Harvey double points when the second race was cancelled because of poor weather conditions.
At Larkhall there were no such problems, and Harvey led both races from pole position to the chequered flag. In the first final Anthony Moss (Middle Barton, Oxon) underlined his potential, climbing from sixth on the grid to second place at the end.
Tom Joiner (Braintree) was third in the first final and fourth in the second championship race, while Wayne Boyd (Newtonabbey) made his mark on the podium in the second final, moving from sixth on the grid to second at the end of the race.
Richard Bradley (Blackheath) put in another gutsy performance, running as high a third in Final one, but dropped back after a spin, wasting his fourth place grid position. He started final two in 29th place, and climbed to 10th by the end of the 20-lap race.
Oliver Rowland (Penistone, S Yorks) had his worst weekend of the season so far, dropping from 11th on the grid to 22nd in final one. He made a strong comeback in the second final reaching fifth place, before Jordan Chamberlain (Newport) pinched the position from him with five laps to go.
