Cadwell Challenge for Porsche Club

The twisty Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire hosts the latest rounds of the Porsche Club Championship this coming weekend, July 1st and 2nd. Championship leader Ian White has been the man to beat at the front of the field this season, though challengers from all classes of the competitive series will be out to score points this weekend at the testing Lincolnshire circuit and reduce his championship lead.

White has won all bar one race to date in his 911 Carrera, but his wins haven't been easy as Mark McAleer has pushed him hard and is the only other driver to stand on the top step of the podium. McAleer is second behind White in the Class One points, and fourth overall in his 968CS. Their battle round the tight Cadwell circuit should be an entertaining one.

Heading the Class Two challengers is Richard Lambert in his 911 Carrera, second place overall in the points table behind White and keen to make the most of any slips by the championship leader. Lambert's main rival in class is 2005 champion Tom Segrue, who dropped points in the previous round at Silverstone due to mechanical problems.

A win at Silverstone for Chris Berry in Class Three moved him up to third overall in the points chase, and his thirty-year-old 911E proof that the series regulations allow a wide variety of Porsche models to be competitive in the races. Alex Eacock has been the form man in the class in recent races, his battle with Berry at Silverstone being a race highlight.

The Porsche Club racers have two races at Cadwell Park of 15 and 25-minute duration.
