Spedeworth South plays host to the Superstox, Stock Rods, Bangers and Grand Prix Midgets at Bovingdon Raceway on Sunday July 9th at 1.30pm.
The Superstox are real crowd pleasers at Bovingdon, where the drivers are always keen to put the front bumper in to move the opposition out of the way. Drivers are competing in Round 8 of the Safari Landrover Challenge and pursuit of the points means those bumpers will be going in at every opportunity around the Herts circuit.
The ever-popular Bangers will be battering each other all over the track as the take part in Round 5 of their ongoing track championship. Expect the track to look like a scrap yard by the end of the meeting as the cars are driven to destruction in pursuit of those vital track championship points.
Fans of non-contact racing will enjoy the Stock Rods. The evenly matched Stock Rods always provide very close racing at Bovingdon as the drivers power round the track with inches between each other’s bumpers. Contact is illegal so overtaking is all down to driver skill and courage, as one small mistake will mean a very expensive visit to the safety fence.
Rounding off a great day’s racing action the Grand Prix Midgets will make a guest appearance with the drivers competing in the Bill Boarer Memorial race.
With a great value for money, four formula racing programme, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) will provide another action packed day of racing when the green flag waves on July 9th
