Although the Quinton Stages Rally 2006 takes place in Mid Wales, based in the town of Llandovery, Bromsgrove rally driver Nathan Crewe regards the rally as his local event and will be keen to keep his recent successful run going as he contests the event as part of his British Trials and Rally Drivers Association (BTRDA) Championship campaign. Currently lying in eighth place in the BTRDA Xspec 1400 championship Crewe has spent the weeks since the Dukeries Rally working hard on his MG ZR to ensure it is ready to tackle the 45miles of gravel tests awaiting him and his Birmingham co-driver Chris Brooks."We hope to do well on this event not just because we seem to be slowly climbing up the Championship table, but also because the event is run by my home club and it feels like my local event. We have spent some time on the car, with help from Questmead we have sorted out some of the brake set up problems which we experienced on the Red Dragon and Dukeries rallies. We have also repaired some damage caused after hitting a bank on the last eventFee."
The Quinton Stages Rally starts on Saturday morning from the Castle Hotel in Llandovery and will provide competitors with a total of seven special timed stages to challenge the team. The rally will also use some roads which also make up part of the route for the Wales Rally GB, the British round of the World Rally Championship, which takes place in December.
Nathan and Chris are supported in the BTRDA XSpec 1400 championship by Grosvenor Repair Centre, Cottrill Transport, Questmead and Silkolene.
