Melchester plans LMS campaign

Melchester Racing is currently developing plans for a major sports-prototype racing programme for the 2007 season.The team, which has been re-formed after enjoying considerable success in the 1970s and 1980s, plans to field a pair of Radical SR9s in the Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours next season at the start of a multi-year programme.Headed by commercial director Brian Morris, the team has an excellent history including fielding Formula 1 cars in Britain. Now, it is being re-formed for the new LMP programme.John Byfield from the Essentially Group is contracted exclusively with the team to secure commercial backing for a three-year sportscar project and the team is already talking to a number of drivers."We have some very exciting plans for the team," says Morris.
