Agency boss vows to fight speeding ticke

Trevor Shepherd, boss of an advertising agency responsible for an £80,000 'don't speed' advertising campaign, has vowed to fight his own speeding ticket.

The campaign, "strictly come speeding" was for 'North West Speed Camera Partnerships.

Safe Speed congratulates Trevor on his stance after his harsh encounter with the realities of pointless and erroneous speeding prosecutions in modern Britain.

Paul Smith, founder of the Safe Speed road safety campaign(www.safespeed.org.uk) said: "This is the reality of modern speeding offences.Responsible drivers everywhere are at significant risk of prosecution even though they are driving perfectly safely. Frequently they are prosecuted despite the fact that their speed is entirely safe and appropriate for the immediate conditions. Sometimes they are prosecuted by dodgy equipment or procedures, or when the speed limit isn't even properly signed."

"Modern speed enforcement by cameras isn't making the roads safer, but is causing severe hardship to hundreds of thousands. Just one encounter with the harsh reality of this ugly and ineffective system is enough to turn anyone against it."

"Give 'em hell, Trevor, they deserve it."
