Jordan ready for resumption of campaign
After a six-week break, Mike Jordan will resume his campaign in the 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire this weekend (15/16 July).Having already finished on the podium twice this season, including winning at Mondello Park, the John Guest-supported Honda Integra should be a strong contender at the technically challenging circuit near Darlington.Jordan is eager to get back into action after the BTCC mid-season break and gave the Honda a successful shakedown test at Mallory Park last week. Importantly, the gearbox problems that dogged the team last time out at Thruxton appear to have been resolved."It was great to get back in the car and drive a few laps," he said, after more than a month out of the cockpit. "I really like Croft. It's a mix of two very different tracks, really, with fast sweeps combined to a slower, much more technical section," says Jordan.Provided the gearbox problem is laid to rest once and for all, expect Jordan to be right back in contention in the next three races as the BTCC enters a busy middle section of the calendar. Three race meetings in five weeks will keep the teams and drivers very busy through mid-summer.Sunday's BTCC action will have excellent TV coverage. On ITV1, an extensive programme on Sunday afternoon will carry the third race of the day live along with highlights from the opening two races. Meanwhile, the Motors TV channel will carry live coverage from Croft throughout Sunday's racing, starting at mid-day.
