Mike Jordan and Team Eurotech will take part in a spectacular city centre demonstration on 31 August when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship drivers takes to the streets of Edinburgh.‘British Touring Cars Live: Edinburgh’ will be a spectacular preview to the BTCC races at the Knockhill circuit on 3 September and is set to attract thousands of people to an evening of live action in the heart of the famous city. The route for the demonstration runs will be along Johnson Terrace at the foot of the city’s famous castle and will happen in the final week of the Edinburgh International Festival.Public admission will be free, and visitors will have the chance to look around the cars and meet the drivers in a special BTCC paddock on Castle Terrace. Jordan’s John Guest and Pirtek-backed Honda Integra will then join fellow BTCC racers to thrill the fans with a taste of touring car action on the closed city centre streets.Massive media coverage is planned for the event, with major regional TV programmes and newspapers expected to report the event and upwards of 10,000 spectators are likely to see the action.Jordan is keen to be part of another high-profile BTCC activity. “This is a fantastic way to further widen the appeal of the BTCC and it’s a great opportunity for our sponsors to gain access to a new audience. It should be a very special event.”It will also be Mike’s first taste of driving the Honda on public roads. However, he did compete in the Birmingham SuperPrix race meeting on the closed roads around his hometown in the late 1980s, and won a race there in a Porsche.The Edinburgh live event will start at 7pm on Thursday 31 August and run for an hour. From 6pm, drivers will be signing autograph.
