with Team GVR Andrew Jordan will contest the final four weekends in the Blaupunkt SEAT Cupra Championship after being invited to take up a place with Team GVR.He will dovetail the eight-race campaign with his existing programme in the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship.Jordan tested for Team GVR at a sweltering hot Brands Hatch on Friday (21 July). This was the first of two tests Jordan and the team have planned before joining the championship at Snetterton on 12/13 August."Andy has an awesome amount of natural talent and car control," said Gordon Wardle, Team Manager at GVR. "This was his first time out in a left hand drive car and he settled in very quickly. In just six laps he was finding times that were on the pace."His pace was even more impressive given that Jordan has only just turned 17 and was negotiating busy test sessions and exceptional track temperatures of over 42 degrees."Andy shows a maturity way beyond his years behind the wheel and although he has limited circuit racing experience and only a short amount of testing available before his first race, I feel confident his natural ability means he'll adapt to SEAT Cupra racing quickly," added Wardle. "The Leon Cupra is a great car," said Jordan. "I was surprised how quickly I felt at one with the grip level and cornering speeds. Although there were more cars on the Indy circuit than the M25, it still proved to be a very productive day. I'm thrilled and excited by the opportunity to race with Team GVR in the SEAT Cupra Championship and really looking forward to my first race at Snetterton."Andrew Jordan started racing in 2004 at 15, winning the BTRDA Junior Rallycross Championship and finishing fourth in the British Junior Rallycross Championship.Last year he contested the British Juniors, BTRDA Juniors and the Super Series Rallycross Championships and won all three, whilst also competing in the AVO Ginetta Championship and going on to win the Ginetta Winter Series. This year Jordan made the record books as the youngest ever Rallycross Supercar racer, being just 16 when he started competing in the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship with his Ford Focus RS Supercar. He is currently seventh in the championship at just half way through the season and is set to continue going from strength to strength.
