THE 2007 Wyedean Forest Rally will be formally launched with a show stage at the inaugural Wales Motor Show at Chepstow Racecourse on Saturday 26 August.
With a little over a fortnight to go to the big day, Wales's First Minister Rhodri Morgan is full of praise: "We congratulate Chepstow Racecourse on hosting Wales's first motor show, and the organisers. We hope it will be a success."
As well as the 500 cars that will be on display along with trade stands and a live action arena and stage show, visitors to the show will witness the launch of the 2007 Wyedean, the rally that has an entry capacity of 180.
Show organiser Paul Parfitt said: "The rally will be making use of the two-mile Tarmac gravel loop, with everything from Mark One Ford Escort Mexicos through to the latest £250,000 world rally cars tearing around the track."
A few lucky visitors to the show will also have the opportunity to experience a ride with Welsh rally legend Gwyndaff Evans or protégé Stuart Jones.
The undefeated World Super Middleweight boxing titleholder Joe Calzaghe will do the honours at the opening ceremony, while his model girlfriend Jamie Lewis is the official face of the show.
