Jordan heads east for next BTCC races

The East Anglian track of Snetterton is the next stop for Mike Jordan in the 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, with three races at the Norwich venue this weekend (12/13 August).Having already finished on the podium three times this season, including winning at Mondello Park, Jordan is determined to be challenging for another podium finish in the John Guest and Pirtek-supported Honda Integra. The Snetterton track is all about straight-line speed, as the BTCC cars reach the highest speeds of the season on two long straights. On the Revett Straight, the BTCC cars are hitting speeds of over 145mph before braking hard for the Esses and it is a track that should suit the slippery shape of the Honda Integra very well. After finishing third at Donington Park during the most recent BTCC weekend, Mike is looking forward to racing at Snetterton. It is another track he knows extremely well, as it is a regular testing venue during the winter months. "We tested at Snetterton before the start of the season and the Honda was the best car I've ever driven round there," says Mike. "So we should have a good base set-up to start from on Saturday morning. The engine has been back for a routine rebuild since Donington, as we're looking for every bit of horsepower for Snetterton!"Sunday's BTCC action will have excellent TV coverage. On ITV1, an extensive programme on Sunday afternoon will carry the third race of the day live along with highlights from the opening two races. Meanwhile, the Motors TV channel will carry live coverage from Snetterton throughout Sunday's racing.
