New Rockingham Circuit Gets Thumbs Up

The new 1.949-mile International Super Sports Car circuit at Rockingham was well received by the teams and drivers of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

The new circuit, which uses the Bike Link onto Turn 4 to allow the cars to miss out the controversial Turn 1 Chicane, was first used at the British GT meeting this weekend.

Tim Mullen (Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 430 GT2): "The car feels pretty good, I think this track suits us.  Like Snetterton there are quite a few high speed corners and Turn 1 especially is a great corner, very high speed 6th gear and flat out so it’s quite challenging.”

Matt Allison (Trackspeed Porsche 996 GT3): “I enjoy the banked part of the circuit, I’d love to do the full oval one day, and it is a great facility here, it really feels like a proper race circuit.”
