Clubracer gets a headache - Formula Vee

The "real" club racer - David Cottrell - got a bit of a headache after the latest Formula Vee round at Silverstone - we let him take up the story:Silverstone was ‘interesting’ the car, resplendent with new sponsor logos - (MJA Autos - please visit their site! www.mja-cars.co.uk/) went out in the wet and did rather well qualifying20th out of 36, no spins, no drama though the first lap was red-flagged for a car spinning onto the stat/finish straight. Was probably the most concentration I have had to put in in any session – you could easily spin anywhere it was so loose.Race was not so incident free. Second corner into the first lap another driver decided to use the same bit of track I was on. Result - he was launched into the air after riding over the front suspension,  a rear-wheel then ran over my hand, bending the steering-wheel on the way,  and damaged some body-work Game-over. As a precaution I was taken to the medical centre due to tyre marks on my helmet – all a bit close….photo shows a tyre mark on the nosecone and bent steering wheel.... come on david - that's what crash hats are for!
