If Jenson wins 2007 British Grand Prix
Discounted Grand Prix tickets go on sale for July date
General admission price frozen for third year running
Access from as little as £10 for children aged 12 and under
Silverstone is delighted to announce that tickets for the 2007 FORMULA 1™ British Grand Prix - taking place on 6-8 July, its traditional date in the F1 calendar – are now on sale. To celebrate, Silverstone has announced a unique offer that is sure to get more fans than ever cheering on British hero Jenson Button at his home race in 2007.
Amazingly, Silverstone has promised to give anyone purchasing an adult grandstand ticket, before the end of September 2006, an incredible £50 back if Jenson takes the chequered flag at the 2007 British Grand Prix – fifty excellent reasons for fans to make sure they book their tickets before 31 September. Following Jenson’s first ever F1 Grand Prix win in Hungary, the interest in tickets for next year’s British Grand Prix has been huge, with the Northamptonshire based circuit inundated with enquiries about details of tickets for next year’s event.
Fans will be pleased to hear that tickets are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by logging on to silverstone.co.uk. Alternatively, the British Grand Prix booking hotline can be called on 08704 588 300. In addition to the unbelievable Jenson offer, there are also huge savings to be made for anyone taking advantage of Silverstone’s Early Booking Offer2. General admission ‘Fan’ tickets - offering access to all three days of the British Grand Prix from as little as £99 (£50 for children) - have been ‘frozen’ for the third year running, offering fantastic value at effectively £33 per day.
However, those planning on heading to Silverstone for next year’s British Grand Prix weekend are advised to move fast as the special Early Booking Offer, presenting savings on almost all adult tickets, is only available for a limited amount of time. Both the Early Booking Offer and price freeze on general admission ‘Fan’ tickets are part of Silverstone’s on-going commitment to add value to the British Grand Prix experience. In addition to freezing the cost of general entry, circuit bosses have introduced a number of exciting new initiatives for 2007, including entry on the Friday and Saturday of the British Grand Prix weekend from as little as £10 for children aged 12 and under3 (if accompanied by a ticket purchasing adult).
Price Categories Silverstone bosses have also increased the number of price categories for next year’s British Grand Prix, providing spectators with more choice and the opportunity to ‘cherry-pick’ their ticket price and seating position. Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Fan categories ensure a range of prices and increased options for F1 fans, with all seats priced flexibly according to their location around the world famous Formula One venue. ‘Platinum’ and ‘Gold’ tickets offer grandstand seating in prime viewing locations around the circuit, including seats at Copse – described by many of the drivers as one of the fastest, ‘hold-your-breath’ corners in the world.
Tickets in the premium Platinum grandstands are available at £2394 per adult if purchased during the Early Booking Offer and £125 per child, while Gold seats in 2007 are priced at an attractive £209 per adult and £115 per child. ‘Silver’ tickets, in grandstands on the super-fast Hangar Straight, corners at Stowe, Club and Abbey, or popular enclosures at Bridge and Farm, are priced at £179, £105 per child, while the Bronze terraced standing areas at Luffield and Copse are available at £139 per adult, £80 for children.
As in 2006, all tickets will be transferable three-day passes, a policy which has proved popular in previous years. The three day ticket offers fantastic value, while the ability to transfer tickets enables those who are unable to attend all three days to pass tickets on to friends and family. Not only does this make it possible for more people to enjoy the great British Grand Prix experience, but ticket holders can also potentially share costs. Quotes Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said, “We’re delighted that the 2007 FORMULA 1™ British Grand Prix has been moved back to its traditional July date. The British public don’t like change and they look forward to the British Grand Prix being in July.
"It’s also important from a hospitality point of view; corporate hospitality is incredibly popular, and it helps when companies and guests know that an event will take place on, or around, the same date each year. “It would be great if a British driver won. Jenson and David Coulthard always enjoy huge support at the British Grand Prix, but our offer to give fans £50 back if Jenson wins his home race will take that support to an entirely new level.”
Speaking about the revised pricing structure Phillips continued, “We conduct a thorough review after every event to identify what can be done to improve the overall value and experience for fans. The highlights for 2007 are the significant savings that can be made through the Early Booking Offer, and the price freeze on general admission ‘fan’ tickets.
At £99 for three days of world class entertainment – effectively £33 per day - the ‘Fan’ ticket offers fantastic value. “The new five-tier pricing structure also gives spectators more choice, but we would recommend that anyone planning on coming to next year’s British Grand Prix makes the most of the Early Booking Offer and books their ticket as early as possible.” Phillips concluded: “In 2006 we noticed a significant increase in the number of families and young fans attending on the Friday and Saturday.
"This is almost certainly down to people making the most of the three day transferable tickets. We are keen to make Formula One more accessible and embrace younger fans; as a result, we will be offering children aged twelve and under, accompanied by an adult ticket holder, access to the Friday and Saturday of the British Grand Prix from as little as £10 and £20 respectively. This is a hugely exciting development and one that will hopefully engage a new generation of Formula One fans.”
Tickets for the 2007 FORMULA 1™ British Grand Prix are now on sale and can be booked at silverstone.co.uk, or by calling 08704 588 300 1. Only fans purchasing adult grandstand seats before the end of September, 2006, will be entitled to claim £50 back if Jenson Button wins the 2007 British Grand Prix driving for the Honda Racing team 2. Silverstone’s Early Booking Offer will run from Monday 4 September 2006 to Wednesday 31 January 2007 inclusive 3. Children aged twelve and under, accompanied by an adult ticket holder, will be able to access the Friday and Saturday of the 2007 British Grand Prix from as little as £10 and £20 respectively. Child tickets will be limited on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a maximum of four child tickets can be purchased per adult ticket.
