Westbrook completes perfect season

Richard Westbrook completed his title-winning season in the Porsche Michelin Supercup with yet another podium finish during the Italian Grand Prix meeting at Monza.

While Westbrook finished second in Italy to maintain a 100% podium record in the 12 races this year, Carrera Cup GB racers Richard Williams and Phil Quaife raced alongside him at Racing Team Morelatto. Williams finished tenth while Quaife finished 16th in the 27-car field on his Supercup debut.Westbrook started third on the grid and finished second to Uwe Alzen, thus scoring a podium finish in each of the 12 rounds and matching a record set by Emmanuel Collard in 1996. "The season has been fantastic," said an elated Westbrook. "We started the year as a new team and our objective today was to win the team championship. We did exactly that and I'm absolutely delighted!"Williams, meanwhile, built his Supercup experience with a strong run to tenth place, while Quaife finished 16th after starting 13th on the grid. "I really enjoyed the race," reported Phil. "I managed to get two places at the start, but had a little tap at the first corner, which unsettled my car and several cars went round the outside of me. So I went from 13th to 11th and back to 16th! The guys out here in the Supercup are seriously good racers."
