Turbo Dynamics team thrilled at Thruxton

Members of the Turbo Dynamics team were treated to a day of breathtaking racing at the finale of the Volkswagen Racing Cup at Thruxton on Sunday.

As a big thank you to staff at the cutting edge turbo company, an invite was extended to the finale of the 2006 cup, which is sponsored by Turbo Dynamics.

Many of the vehicles on the grid employ turbo technology from the Dorset-based company, including Peter Wyhinny’s Volkswagen Racing Cup Caddy diesel engine which delivers an awesome 270bhp from its two litre diesel engine – thought to be the highest specific power output bhp per litre of any diesel engine which runs on diesel pump fuel that has ever been made.

41-year-old Paul Taylor from Hertfordshire clinched the 2006 Volkswagen Racing Cup title at Thruxton despite being denied season-closing victories in his four-wheel-drive Golf R32.

Steve Wood, whose 2.0T Golf GTI Mk V is boosted by Turbo Dynamics technology, eventually finished fifth, but on the day claimed victory honours with Martyn Culley in a pair of hair-raising races.

And Lloyd Allard’s Turbo Dynamics sponsored 1.9 Golf TDI Mk IV claimed third position, 30 points behind champion Paul Taylor.

Peter Marsh, of Turbo Dynamics said: “The finale was an exciting close to Britain’s best supported saloon car championship with fantastic racing.  Our employees were delighted to attend the last meeting of the season - many have been directly involved with the design and manufacture of the turbos employed by competitors, so watching the vehicles perform was a real thrill.”
