Britnell rejoins Carrera Cup
Andy Britnell will return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Silverstone this weekend (14/15 October) after almost a year out of racing due to business commitments. Britnell will rejoin the Motorbase Performance team for the final races of 2006 as he works towards a full campaign in 2007.Andy, a Director of Phoenix Interiors Ltd, was a Carrera Cup podium finisher in 2004 and was runner up in last year's British GT Championship. He is now looking forward to his first outing in the new 997-model 911 GT3 Cup car."I want to do a full Carrera Cup season next year and I'm absolutely looking forward to getting back into it," says Britnell, who will run alongside Tim Harvey, Michael Caine and Phil Quaife as the Motorbase team expands to four cars for the weekend. "I've been very busy with work commitments this year, but I'm ready to get back into racing now.""It's good to have Andy back in one of our cars and we will be expecting a strong performance from him, even if he might be a bit rusty!" said Motorbase team principal David Bartrum. Britnell will be supported by MPG Associates, Vantis plc and Buyland Group.
