Those magnificent Le Mans
The DTM series visits the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans this week, for its penultimate round. The DTM has expanded its range of circuits this year and Le Mans is the last of the ‘new’ circuits for the racers. Audi driver Tom Kristensen demonstrated the A4 DTM at the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier in the year, to rapturous applause. The race will also be a special one for Jean Alesi, as he may retire from driving at the end of the season. Motors TV will, as usual, be showing the all-important qualifying session live on Saturday, followed by the full race action, also live, on Sunday.

A Silverstone lining
The final round of the 2006 British Touring Car Championship takes place at Silverstone this weekend and if the rest of this year is anything to go by, the action will be red-hot. Matt Neal and Jason Plato have been fighting tooth-and-nail all season and the race for the driver’s championship goes down to the wire between the two of them. Neal is 35 points ahead and there are 52 available over all three races, so expect more of the same. Motors TV will be showing the BTCC races, as well as the support series, live as the championship is decided at the final round.

The need for Speedway…
The Speedway Premier League is the pinnacle of the sport in the UK and the only place to see it is on Motors TV. The channel will be following the progress of the teams, comprising some of the best riders from all over the world. Each team consists of seven riders and each meeting has 15 four-lap races, so there is no shortage of action. The riders keep their bikes sliding practically all the time and the 500cc single cylinder machines accelerate almost as fast as a Formula One car. Motors TV is exclusively showing this year’s series for fans of this exciting sport.

Adria at it, see?
The penultimate round of this year’s FIA GT championship takes the teams to the Adria circuit, near Venice in Italy. The fight for honours is escalating in every class, with Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini holding a slender 10-point margin in the GT1 category and Matteo Bobbi and Jaime Melo with a tighter 8-point lead in GT2. The Austrian team, Race Alliance, took its first win at Mugello, beating both Maseratis and has put itself in contention for the remaining two rounds. Motors TV has highlights of the ninth round of the series.

A woman’s work…
The final round of this year’s Formula Woman race series took place at Snetterton and the title chase went down to the wire. Arriving in Norfolk, there were three drivers who could walk away as champion and the action on the circuit was fierce. A little too fierce perhaps, as two of the protagonists, Lucy Redding and Kirsty Jeffrey, collided on the final lap and were called in front of the race stewards to hear decisions which may affect the championship outcome. Motors TV has highlights of the final race, where the 2006 Formula Woman champion was crowned.

The finale countdown…
The final round of this year’s American Le Mans Series takes the teams and drivers to the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterrey, California. One of the most dramatic circuits on the calendar, the four-hour race will take the teams into the evening, much as it did at the previous round, the 10-hour Petit Le Mans. The LMP1 category looks like a foregone conclusion, with Audi proving dominant but P2 is still open, with Intersport Racing looking to continue its run of form and claim the lead from the Porsche factory team. Motors TV has the entire race live, for all the action from this superb circuit.
