Eurotech gives Ascari GT initial test
David and Godfrey Jones had two days of initial shakedown testing at the end of last week with the all-new Ascari KZ1 GT car that Team Eurotech will field for them in 2007.The GT3 car ran at Donington Park on Thursday and then at Snetterton on Friday and team boss Mike Jordan was hugely thrilled with the car's performance. The car ran faultlessly in some very wet conditions, and completed around 120 laps in two days. "It's just glorious," reported Jordan. "We didn't have to put a spanner on the car; it just ran perfectly without a problem and the BMW V8 engine was fantastic."The car will be back out testing again next week as part of a major test and development programme that is scheduled to run through until the end of November. "I couldn't be more enthusiastic about a GT car," reckons Jordan. "I think the Ascari holds tremendous promise."
