Recently released statistics show that record numbers of TV viewers are watching coverage of the 2006 Porsche Carrera Cup GB.The Carrera Cup GB is screened on the Motorsport UK programme on ITV1, usually starting at midnight on a Tuesday evening. Figures for the weekly programme up to the beginning of October show an average audience of 600,000 viewers.A peak audience of 900,000 viewers saw the action from the Donington Park races when the programme was broadcast on 22 August. The 2006 figures represent an increase of around 30% over the 2005 programmes, which were typically broadcast on Sunday nights.In addition, each of the Carrera Cup races on the Sunday at BTCC events is carried live on the Motors TV as part of the satellite channel's extensive BTCC coverage.
