Giacomo Ricci (Fisichella Motor Sport) won the the Euroseries 3000 and the Italian F.3000 Championship in Misano.
With the win in Race 1, the 22 years old from Milan took both titles, without needing the afternoon's final race of the of the season.
Ricci, started from pole position, and dominated the race - the most challenging rival was teammate Marco Bonanomi who started from the fourth row and finishing in fifth. Bonanomi rose to third after many fastest laps, and then challenged Petrov (Euronova) for second.
During the last lap, just after the Arena chicane, Bonanomi spun trying to overtake the Russian, dropping two places.
Brazilian Diego Nunes finished his debut race in fourth with the Lola of Minardi/GP Racing team.
The young Austrian Bianca Steiner (F.3000 Rookies’ Team) finished in tenth in her first race in the category.
