Prost scores points again

Nicolas Prost scored points again in Sunday's Spanish F3 race at the Jerez circuit where Racing Engineering faced one of the most difficult weekends of the season.

Miguel Molina and Marcos Martinez became victims of the mistakes of another driver, while Sergio Jimenez suffered from the stewards decisions.

Nicolas Prost, 4th on the grid, didn't start the race as well as usual and dropped back to 7th place. However, the French Racing Engineering driver pushed hard during the race and overtook Rodriguez and Montserrat. Nicolas finished 5th, scoring points again after finishing Saturday's race on the podium. Miguel Molina and Marcos Martinez on the other hand were involved in an incident they could do nothing to avoid.

Miguel was able to continue with a damaged car and after dropping back to last position, was able to make his way up to 12th place during the remaining laps. Marcos was not as lucky as his teammate. Going off the track while avoiding a collision, he was stuck in the gravel and his race was thus finished in lap 1.

Sergio Jimenez, who started from the back of the grid, amazed everyone with his performance, making up position after position and finishing the race in 7th.

Miguel Molina: I had a really good start, but in turn 2 someone pushed me from behind and I found myself at the end of the field. I didn't give up and was able to finish in 12th, which isn't bad given the fact that my car was damaged. I really hope that I have more luck at the next meeting in Barcelona."

Marcos Martinez: There isn't much to say. In the second corner there was an incident involving various drivers and when avoiding the accident I got stuck in the gravel." Sergio Jimenez: I had a really amazing car and felt very comfortable with it. But when you start from the back, your possibilities are very limited, but I was able to finish in 7th position. The most important thing is that I had very fast lap times and together with Risatti, we were the fastest in this race, although my tyres were suffering much more since I was pushing harder at the beginning of the race when I was overtaking many drivers. My main objective now is to do everythig I can so we win the team championship title in Barcelona." Nicolas Prost: I finished in the points again and that's not bad. The team has done a really good job this weekend."

Alfonso de Orleáns-Borbón: This wasn't a good weekend. Sergio Jimenez, once more, was penalized by the stewards. I really don't understand this and have no idea what they have against our driver. We have to look forward now and see what Barcelona brings. I really hope the hard work of the entire team during this year gets rewarded with the team championship title.
